I know from personal experience that this is THE WORST! Stay positive if you can, because things can work out. Personally, I applied for Care Credit and did a fundraiser through YouCaring. There are other options out there too!
(also a reminder that we only signal boost and donate to certified non-profits, so we can’t help individuals in those ways, but I hope this post helps out because I know how difficult this can be!)SIGNAL BOOOOOST
Please don’t ever put off taking your pets to the vet when it’s necessary because you can’t afford it. There are options.
Most importantly, if you’re on a budget; decide on your number for what you can afford and communicate with your vet! I worked in client care at an ER clinic for years; it was my job to go over estimates and help people figure out a care plan for their pet. If people were polite and honest with me, I was almost always able to help them figure something out when their pet needed lifesaving care. Tell the doctor or the assistant what you can afford to do, and ask to go over an estimate with an employee. The people who take that role really do care about you and want to help you work it out.
a good vet will let you decide whether to do expensive tests and treatments.
for instance, when i took hermes in recently because he was coughing, our vet asked if i wanted to go with the most probable explanation, give him some antibiotics, and hope for the best, or do an x-ray and be sure. fortunately, i’m in a position where i can afford to get my cat a chest x-ray, so i said go for it, and we were able to rule out things like cancer and be certain the antibiotics were the right treatment. but there was a time when i wouldn’t have been able to afford the antibiotics if we’d done the x-ray, so i appreciated her asking first.

its “thighs rubbing together under ya sundress” season
Buy cute, cheap lace leggings. Cut them a little above your knee. Hem them or don’t, but then you can wear them under your sundresses and not worry about how you sit or if your thighs chafe, and if anyone sees them they look cute af so hell yes
Or a little deodorant between the thighs is magical
Also, LUSH sells this dust called Silky Underwear that makes your skin smooth so they don’t stick together or chafe.
I love that we’re all here for each other in this season of need
Monistat has an anti-chafing gel that works wonders and I live by. You can usually find it in the feminine care aisle of any drugstore.
There’s this stuff called Glide…pretty cheap & works hella miracles
I’m so ready for sundress season.
